Question we have been asked

Can you photograph our products while they're still at the factory — before they ship?

That's exactly what we do. Either ship your goods to our production house in Shanghai, or we come to the factory. Both work.

What do you need from us to get started?

After the first conversation we usually have enough to put together a rough estimate and a basic plan. We'll come back to you with that, and if it looks right, we move into the detailed preparation — research, logistics, crew — and streamline everything from there.

Once you confirm, we sign a contract and ask for a 50% deposit, book what needs to be booked, and shoot. You get a preview of the results, retouching happens, and we deliver the final files. Once you're happy, we invoice the balance.

How far in advance do we need to book?

Two to four weeks is the most common lead time and we can usually make it work within that window. The more time we have, the smoother the planning — and the shoot.

Do you coordinate models, stylists, and location scouts, or do we need to arrange those separately?

We aim to give you a complete package and take care of everything. If you have specific locations, people, or suppliers you want involved, we're happy to work with them too.

Why do clients choose you over competitors?

We listen. Instead of sitting through endless meetings, we focus on finding out what clients actually need. And our no-BS approach tends to be a relief for most people.

What did you learn from the last time you lost an important client?

If I can't deliver what a client needs, it's better to let them go than waste time on both sides. An important lesson!

What's your dream camera?

That depends on what you're shooting. For street photography the answer is completely different than for a studio job. The dream camera is always the one that fits your Dream!

Do we need to be there for the shoot, or can you manage it on our behalf?

You don't need to be there. As long as we have a clear brief and someone on your side we can reach while we're shooting, we can handle everything on the ground.

There is also ways to get you a live-feed while we shoot.

What happens if something needs to change after the shoot?

We do our best to get it right on delivery. If something needs adjusting, the first step is post-production — most things can be handled in retouching. In cases where a reshoot is needed, we look at where the change came from and find the most practical solution together.

How do you price a project?

It depends on what the project needs: number of shoot days, files to deliver, and — honestly — what you're working with as a budget. Quality costs money, but we can also find smart solutions for smaller budgets. Tell us what you're trying to achieve and what you're working with, and we'll put together the right approach.

What kind of clients do you enjoy working with most?

Direct, honest people who communicate well — even when they don't fully know what they want yet. Unclear communication gets in the way of good work.

How do you handle shoots in remote locations or outside the major cities?

We have a strong network across China and we're used to this kind of planning. Travel, crew, and equipment logistics are part of what we coordinate — wherever the shoot needs to happen, we make it work.

Do you shoot mostly in the studio or on location?

It depends entirely on the job. We can recreate outdoor environments in the studio too, so the short answer is: everything is possible.

How do you deal with unexpected weather or location problems on the day?

It depends on the schedule. If the timeline is tight, we do whatever it takes to finish the job. Finding the best image in the worst conditions is part of what we do.

How do you handle clients who want all the raw files?

No problem — here's the link.
